Mistfall Hunter Maps GuideHollow Grove and Brandelgard
Two maps at launch, each with distinct POIs, extraction zones, secret passages, and Gyldenmist collapse patterns.
How the Map and Gyldenmist System Works
Mist Shrink Phases and Extraction Timing
The Gyldenmist circle shrinks over multiple discrete phases. Each phase announcement gives you time to reach the new safe zone. Being caught outside the border deals lethal damage over time. Plan your extraction route around the final phase's designated area.
Reading the Map Timer
The map timer counts down to the next phase collapse. Use the pause between phases to scout extraction areas and locate Returner Woodlings. When the timer hits 25%, treat finding a Soul of Return bell as your only priority.
Map Mutations
Each session can introduce map mutations — uncharted zones open, gates lock, and ancient relic locations shift. Treat every run as a fresh map read.
Hollow Grove — Map Overview
A dense forest map with ruined structures, underground passages, and monster-heavy inner zones. Favors stealth classes and ranged fighters.
Key Points of Interest in Hollow Grove
The Hollow Core
Central high-loot zone. Heavy monster density; contested by most squads early-run.
Rootwatch Ruins
Mid-tier loot. Strong Blackarrow sniping positions from elevated platforms.
Ironbark Gate
Connects eastern and western halves. Choke point — avoid when mist is collapsing.
Verdant Crypts
Underground zone. High loot, low visibility — ideal for Shadowstrix ambushes.
Secret Passages and Gates
Three confirmed underground passages in Hollow Grove connect the outer ring to the central zone without crossing open terrain. Two gates between northern and southern halves have random open/locked states per session.
High-Tier Loot Zones
The Hollow Core and Verdant Crypts reliably spawn Rare–Epic gear. Legendary spawns are tied to elite monster kills in these zones, not static chest locations.
Brandelgard — Map Overview
A fortress-ruin map with open courtyards, elevated walls, and deeper underground vaults. Favors melee fighters and area-denial builds.
Key Points of Interest in Brandelgard
The Forsaken Throne
Highest-tier loot in Brandelgard. Boss-level monsters guard the inner sanctum.
Outer Battlements
Safe early looting. Long sightlines favor Blackarrow and Sorcerer.
Lower Vaults
Ancient relic spawns. Access requires finding a vault key in upper-level chests.
Wardgate Passage
Secret passage linking the western wall directly to the throne area — skips the contested main gate.
Uncharted Zones and Ancient Relics
Map mutations can open previously sealed vault sections in Brandelgard, revealing ancient relic nodes. Relics are high-value items that do not fit normal rarity tiers — treat them as priority Pip's Pouch candidates.
Designated Extraction Areas
Brandelgard has two fixed extraction zones — north courtyard and south gate plaza. Both become contested in the final mist phase as all remaining players converge. Identify which zone the final circle favors early and pre-position.
Map Mutations and Dynamic Events
Forbidden Arcana Locations
Certain runs spawn Forbidden Arcana nodes at fixed possible locations. Interacting with them triggers a timed event — high reward, high noise. Other players will hear the activation and converge. Only attempt with full gear or a trio squad.
How Map Mutations Change Each Run
Mutations affect gate states, zone accessibility, and relic placement. There is no way to know the mutation configuration before entering the map — scouting the first 90 seconds of a run determines your optimal route.
